the art of applying "register_user" - an idiots guide

Hello,

First off I will say how impressed, thus far, I am with ZenPhoto. I've been testing it out locally for a couple of days and it seems to work very well indeed :)

My intention is to use ZenPhoto for a PR website where registered Journalists can download the high resolution version of client imagery.

Therefore the site will need to use the "register_user" plugin.

My question is in two parts:
1) Can someone explain (in an idiot's guide style) how I might activate this feature?
2) Are the people who apply for registration automatically approved (once they click on the link in the email they'd receive)? Because it would really be needed that anyone who applies for registration has to be manually approved by Admin staff, before being able to download.
