Zenphoto in a subdomain? Possible? - nathan - 15-10-2005

Hi,

I am having quite a bit of trouble installing Zenphoto in a subdomain on my server.

I THINK I am running on a virtual hosting envirnment. I have my MAIN domain, that lives under /home/user/public_html/ and then I have 'add on domains' that live here /home/user/public_html/newDomain/

When ever I go to the add on domain address (littlesnappers.com.au) and log in, it takes me to littlesnappers.mydomain.com.

Now,

 1. I don't want it to change address
 2. None of the server paths mach up properly, resulting in all the images and style sheets not loading
 3. I can't think of a way to fix these issues.

If anyone could lend a hand, it would be much appreciated.

BTW: I love the software and have it set up on multiple other domains. Great work.

I might that I can access that directory through the following means:

 1. littlesnappers.com.au
 2. littlesnappers.mydomain.com
 3. mydomain.com/littlesnappers

I don't know if that would help.

bump

Does anyone have a solution for this? Am I the only one with this problem?

Is your .htaccess in the subdirectory?

yeah it is. I moved EVERY file into the subdirectory, the .htaccess included.

It works, but at the WRONG address.

Hmm? I'm not sure I understand add on domains correctly. You have a domain at http://mydomain.com, you are installed in http://mydomain.com/Newdomain/ ?, and when you access the /Newdomain/ directory it takes you back to mydomain.com

I'm getting a 403 error at yourdomain.com, I'm getting access but no styles or links at yourdomain.com.au and yourdomain.newdomain.com, could the 403 error have to do with the problem.

Hmm? I'm not sure I understand add on domains correctly. You have a domain at http://mydomain.com, you are installed in http://mydomain.com/Newdomain/ ?, and when you access the /Newdomain/ directory it takes you back to mydomain.com

This is sort of correct.
My domain: http://mydomain.com
Add-on domain (directory): http://mydomain.com/Newdomain
Add-on domain (web access): http://Newdomain.com.au

Now, if I go to the web accessable address for the add-on domain, I get redirected to:
http://Newdoamin.mydomain.com

This is because the add-on domain is also considered a sub-domain on the 'mydomain.com' account.

It is all very complex and tricky. I hope that shed a little more light on the situation.

I'm not familiar enough with the server setup for that to be able help you here, I don`t think. My best guess would be comparing notes with the service support regarding the .htaccess? Wish I could help you more
