After being asked to rerun setup to cure loss of my site I had to download the latest version of ZenPhoto to get the zp-core and zp-data folders to enable me to run setupo without errors.

The site now works to a point if i leave deprecated-errors plugin enabled and everything unchecked within it. I do still get a fatal error at the bottom of my page as follows;

Fatal error: Call to undefined function printFavoritesURL() in /mounted-storage/home142/sub005/sc62105-HHGW/www/wearwolfie/zp-core/zp-extensions/favoritesHandler/deprecated-functions.php on line 10

and can no longer access the admin/login options. I am running zenpages not just the photogallery.

And now if I try to reinstall ZP the plugins fail to load and after two rows of red crosses built on the page I get the "you can now administer your site" message at the bottom of the notification - when I click the link it fails to load the admin page...! I am stuck, no admin, no nothing. Re-installing doesn't work.

printFavoritesURL: Most likely you do not have the favoritesHandler plugin enabled. But of course your theme really should be able to deal with it being present or not. (You have not told us the theme you are using.)

If you click on one of the red crosses you may get more details on what is failing. Beyond that we will need to know what errors have been logged both in your debug log but more important in your server's error logs.

I was using zpBootstrap as the them when the problems ocurred. I did a reinstall and unchecked all the deprecated-functions plugin options to solve the error messages that were appearing on the pages. This worked fine but there were errors using the search or whenever it tried to display virtual albums. I changed the theme to the default theme and still got errors. I tried another reinstall but thats when I had the errors on the plugins installation part of the setup process. The site is currently set on the default theme and I cant access the admin anymore.

I am still trying to work out how to get my server error log details....
I am unable to access the admin for my ZenPhoto install. If I go to https://www.mysitename.com/zp-core/admin.php it just tells me site is unavailable.

According to your NOTICE you got a permissions error on a server directory. Looks to me as if that is outside of Zenphoto ((/shared/sessions) and a server problem. Maybe contact your host about that when you ask for the server error logs.

Whenever I try and do a fresh install, within minutes of the attempts I see a .mutex folder created in zp-data folder - it could be a trojan/virus problem?

No that is correct and done by Zenphoto.

I am getting errors too, as well as other issues since installing the latest version. One issue I would like to rectify immediately is the fact that people are now able to download my photos by right-clicking, even though I had disabled that years ago. I still have "Disable hotlining" checked but I can't find the other security feature which disables the ability to right-click and save.

Also, whenever I try to navigate to another tab in the Admin section, it shows me this pop-up:

even though I made no changes at all.

The HTML toolbar is now missing as well. I am no longer able to post live links in the album description

There is no way to disable "right click and save" at all. Your theme might not be correctly setup. You have not told which theme you are using.

Which html toolbar you are referring to the editor on the backend? that is a plugin, enabled tinymce4 and you have it back. It should be enabled by default actually.

I enabled tinyMCE4, but it did not return the html toolbar.

Also, the formatting is screwed up now. My photos are larger than the area in which they are supposed to fit. I tried resizing the photos in admin, but nothing changed.

My PHP was upgraded to 5.4.29 but my friend's was not. I'm having issues, he is not, therefore, signs point to an issue with the theme upgrade

Sometimes happens to me too. Maybe you were administrating in multiple browser tabs at the same time. Use just one browser tab or restart your browser.

Activate the favoritesHandler plugin.

I can only guess that you did have a slightly modified default theme. With some extra JavaScript to disable [i]right-click[/i]
It looks like you also upgraded the themes folder which means that the default theme has been replaced by the new basic theme. That would explain the loss of your [i]right-click[/i] function and other settings.

Look into the tinymce4 options and check if the
[i]Text editor configuration - Zenphoto[/i] is not set to [i]disabled[/i]

And also refresh the database.
Admin => Overview => Refresh the Database (button).

Zenphoto runs fine on PHP 5.4 and I actually develop even on 5.5. That will not be the issue but of course it can always be a server config issue.

Zenphoto had never a way to disable right click. The only thing we have a is a basic protection for the full image but that will not disable any right click on images already shown (and therefore alreaddy download to the browser cache). We have even a long article on the user guide why disabling right clicks is useless and bad practice:

I think Fretzl may be right that you missed the theme renaming and therefore didn't upgrade your theme:
