How to change database password? - mfor1967 - 2015-12-04

Hello. I had to change my database password and zenphoto 1.4.2 isn't happy. I found a zp-data/zenphoto.cfg file that contains the database information and I updated it. But zenphoto still doesn't connect.

Where else is the info stored so I can update it? Or is there an official way to update passwords?

Thanks!

Did you run setup after you changed the info in zenphoto.cfg ?

You can also first delete zenphoto.cfg and then run setup.
Setup will then ask for the database credentials and create a new zenphoto.cfg

When trying to run zp-core/setup.php I get the same DB password error

downloaded the same version I had running and copied over the zp_core and themes folders. Set is running, everything is ok except for "Database setup in configuration file"
Error!

Access denied for user 'mfor1967'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

I'm using the same info in another tab to bring up phpMyAdmin to back up the existing database.

Sorry, can't help here. The only thing I can think of is that somehow the database credentials don't match.
Sure you got the right user name, password, database name and host?

Yup, you are correct. Trusting your response, I retraced my steps and double checked all my passwords and the error was typo on my side! I knew the error was somewhere between my chair and the keyboard.

Zenphoto finished the setup and everything is running again!
