hope my question is not silly
i like to know what the folder " cache " used for ??
also this folder is it ok to empty it from time to time ?

The cache folder is used to store resized images from your originals (in the /albums/ folder). You can clear it, but then your gallery will be slow as it re-sizes all the images when they're viewed for the first time.
It's important to have the cache folder so your gallery is viewable with the smaller image sizes and thumbnails. I recommend you don't empty it very often or at all.
