password issue - gfavchi - 2008-10-05

not sure what has happened?? I can not log in!

i used my user and password that i know were valid

i then requested a change and saw that on the change password screen the password
for me was longer? i tried to change with no luck. I then attempted to set up a
second user.. i did that, but again can not log in?

not sure what info i should supply you with?
Thanks George

There is no relation between the number of dots in the password field and the actual password.

You can delete the administrators table as described in the troubleshooting guide. That might help.

You can also set the DEBUG_LOGIN define to true at the front of functions.php. This will create a log file named debug_log.txt in the zp-config folder which will give details of what is happening when you reset your password and try to log in.

ok i am new to this, so i assume you want me to go into zp-core
which i did, but i see many admin...php files
which one is the admiinistrators table that i am suppose to delete?

note i did back this up the entire dir while it was working... might it be easier to just
resotre?

thanks, George

No, you need to look into the database directly via a program called phpmyadmin (or another one). Please ask your ISP if you don't know where to find it or how to do it.

ok I followed your advice and emptyed administrators...
i then re-set up my password... the first time it did not work, so i did it again
and it worked!! thanks for the help.

not sure why i had to do it twice and why this problem started in the first place?

but all is well..again thanks, George
