I think I'd like to make a small twitch to the version 1.5.2.

Everything was fine until I found out that I can't include images from unpublished galleries to my wordpress posts.

The bug was to fix the "displaying unpublished album images" in the widget.

But that affected the zenphotopress Dialog. Unpublished albums were not displayed in the drop down.

So the question is How do I list all the albums in the Zenphotopress Dialog??

**Since the ZPP Dialog is not viewable by readers, I strongly suggest it should retain all the albums so that we have freedoms to play around with ZPP

Well, this would be actually much more complicated than the previous modification.
Also, I think that ZenphotoPress should not be allowed to bypass the permissions set by Zenphoto.
I will keep it into consideration for the future, but I'm not going to implement it anytime soon.

Btw, what would be the point, since users cannot se private albums/images?

I actually have different standards of image sizes for my website.

The website would use 400 (longest side)
and
The gallery would use 1024 (longest side)

The idea is to let zenphoto to manage the images used in the website and to be able to show only NICE (and standard sized 1024) images in zenphoto.

With the freedom of this you could always save extra space (don't need to waste space & bandwidth for the "not really nice" pictures used for the website) and showcase only the good images in your gallery. Throwing a stone to kill 2 birds.

That's my 2 cents though. Hopefully it would be implemented asap.

One more thing. The link that links images created in the post are not permalinks. Is this a bug as well or is it something else ?

What do you mean? How do you define a permalink in the context of Zenphoto?

As for the feature request, I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to achieve.

Anyway, when you insert an image using ZenphotoPress you can specify its width and height. If I'm not mistaken Zenphoto will automatically generate a new thumbnail for the image, so you wouldn't be wasting any bandwidth.
(This doesn't work for the widget and the shortcode, however).

What I meant was the link generated by ZPP to link scaled images from ZenPhoto is the "ugly" type of link.
So instead of linking as www.url.com/gallery/album/image.ext
ZPP created the link as www.url.com/gallery/index.php?album=albumname&image=imagename

Well, what I am actually doing is using ZP and ZPP to manage my pictures in my wordpress posts.

I also use ZP to publish only nice pictures.

So whenever I need images from my wordpress post, I would make 400px images to host in ZP.

And since my gallery uses 1024px standard. I wouldn't want it to publish 400px size images but I would want ZPP to be able to pick them up in order to use in my wordpress.

So I would create unpublished albums that hosts images used in my wordpress and albums published to showcase the pretty pictures.

And I requested a feature from ZPP

• ZPP Widget to pick thumbnails from the published albums
• ZPP Dialog to pick up all albums so I can choose which image I uploaded regardless of published or not, to use in my wordpress posts.

Should be clear enough I suppose LOL

You mean the shortcode that uses i.php to generate images does not cache the images?
SO the same reader would have to load the image in my post everytime he visits?

Can't you get them from the cache instead. Like how the gallery is doing.

• Permalinks: you're right, it's a bug.

• 400/1024px pictures: it seems to me that you're describing how thumbnails work.
  When you upload an image on ZP, whatever its size, a thumbnail is automatically created: this means that ZP generates a smaller version of the image. The size of the thumbnail can be customized, so you can have thumbnails that are 400px wide, if you want.

Now, I don't see why you'd need to upload a "good" and a "bad" version of the image, since ZP already does the dirty work for you (good->image, bad->thumbnail).

• Shortcode: no, the shortcode is [zenphotopress].
  As far as I know, ZP caches everything. ZPP gets its images from ZP, so it uses the same caching policy as ZP.

The thing is.

• I use ZP to manage both my gallery image and Wordpress images (with ZPP).
• and I don't want the wordpress images to be published in my gallery. Because when I made them, they are only 400px big and not the images I want to publish in my gallery.

Thats why I requested the ZPP Dialog to be able to pick up images from unpublished album as well.

I'll have to draw diagrams out if you still can't understand. LOL
