Is it possible to have a password only Album (no username) or is it possible to send a link to someone so they dont have to login with a user:pass? I am a bit spoiled by Flickrs "Guest Pass" that protects albums and gives you a link to send to certain people.

You can have password only. Just do not configure the user name.
No one can view a password protected album without the password. However you can have unpublished albums that do not show in your album but can be viewed by someone you have sent the link to.
