PHP mbstring package [is not present]

How do I enable mbstring? I'm on a linux vps

First that package needs to be installed on your server. If that isn't the case you will need to ask your host. If it is installed but not enabled and you have no access to your server configuration you will also need to ask your host.

I have access to my server configuration. I have installed the package but it doesn't seem to be enabled

There is an entry needed in your PHP.ini file for configuring mbstring. But, the message above indicates that the package is not installed in your PHP.

What is the entry needed in the PHP.ini?
