Modifications guide ? - sownman - 2010-04-17 I previously posted about db auto replication errors and have now re-installed http://www.michaelahartphotography.com/zenphoto/index.php Thanks Modifications guide ? - Blue Dragonfly - 2010-04-17 I don't think themes would cause that recursive replication problem you had, especially as that was a known bug that has since been fixed. If you stick with themes marked as "generally compatible", you should be in pretty good shape. There are more options to choose from if you don't use ZenPage also, as I do. I'm pretty sure M9 will not cause the album replication problem, though I don't know if it has any incompatibilities with the newer zenphoto 1.2.9. Even if it does, they can probably be addressed without too much trouble. My recommendation is generally to choose the theme closest to how you (or she) want the site to look, and then modify it from there. I expect you can get a lot of good help with tweaks here in the forum - I'll chip in as well :-) Most themes already have a link to the home page, unless you're refering to a home page outside of zenphoto, like some general site welcome page or something. M9 seems to have that as well. (I just looked at the site you linked to, and I see what you mean by "home page" - that's not hard to link to once you select a theme.) Modifications guide ? - acrylian - 2010-04-17 As I answered on the other thread, that "recursive replication" was a bug of 1.2.8 and older. We have a theming tutorial and a functions guide on our site. Of course you need to be familiar with at least XHTML adn CSS to change things. A little basic knowledge of PHP or JS might also be an advantage. We of course do not explain such general knowledge stuff in general, there are better places to learn that. |
