I would like the field "description" for every photo of an album to be opened for editing by the members of a specific group.

From I can understand of the security, to give that I have to give full rights on the album, meaning that a user can delete the photos, this last action being undesired.

If my understanding is correct, is there a "patch" I can make on the code somewhere to just allow "description" editing, without any others rights for a group of users ?

Descriptions can be edited by any user who has "album" rights for the album that contains the image. To my knowledge there is no hack that refines these priviledges.
