Hello, I got this files out of variance after having moved the index.php file from zenphoto folder to a root folder on my server. Then, I put it again inside the zenphoto folder, but just after that, my password has turned locked on a wrong one, that I can't change, no matter what I do. I type the good one, and when I hit the Go button, the wrong one is back. What should I do?

  Perhaps there was a problem with the upload. You should check the following files:
  index.php
  zp-core/functions-basic.php
  zp-core/setup.php

There was an error logging in.
Check your username and password and try again.

Did you really moved only the index.php file? If you want to move Zenphoto to the root of your webserer you have to move the whole content of the Zenphoto folder. Otherwise this can't work.

The file out of variance is a warning to avoid possible outdated files on updates and the like.

The login error I have no idea about as that is stored in the database which surely is not affected by moving files. The easiest is to do this:

Follow the troubleshooting guide for resetting your password.

It is possible that messing up the installation did something to your password. If you had wrong files installed just about anything could occur.

Be sure you have a proper zenphoto installation and follow the above indicated steps.

About the login error, this is what I get: Access denied for user 'rousset_wayjames'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

Would it be possible that if my MySQL username is the same as my zenphoto password, a conflict happens?

How can I change my zenphoto password then?

Database passwords are independent from Zenphoto ones. You change the Zenphoto password on the admin pages. But of course you will not be able to do that until you can access the database.

Thank you very much I found the cause of the locked password, nothing to do with Zenphoto. It's Firefox. On the Mozilla forum they explain where, on Mac, internet passwords memorized by Firefox are stored. Sometimes it's good to delete those that are recalled automatically like mine was.

Another person had the same issue: "I joined a program earlier this week and put uppercase characters in my username. When I got my confirmation it was all in lowercase. I tried to login giving the username I had been given, but when I entered it it immediately reverted to the one I had chosen with uppercase characters."

To delete the ancient passwords in Firefox on Mac, go to:Firefox -> Preferences->Security->Saved Passwords->select the entry for the website->click on "Remove".

Good to know. For security reasons I actually would recommend to not let a browser store any passwords or let it automatically fill in forms.
