jus downloaded zenphoto and which is comprehensive. the coders are from another world.
I want users to register then they can upload profiles of different institutions. so at the top of the page, the current institution will be displayed as owning that gallery. how possible is it and can someone please drop pointers on the direction. zenphoto is so large and complex. Thanks

You can attach rights to toplevel albums to users on the user admin tab. Please review the user rights article on our user guide.

You missed it. assume the many makes of vehicles, mazda,nissan,benz. after registering the user gets a list of this vehicles, selects one and views its gallery. thats what i meant.

You did write nothing about vehicles and makers, but of some "institutions"... Maybe be a little more specific what you want to do I still don't understand it.

First, "gallery" refers to the Zenphoto installation, you are talking about "albums". Besides that I probably not understand what you want to do it sounds like one album per vehicle.

In any case you might have some work to do, surely Zenphoto can't do everything for your special purpose out of the box (no CMS can).

I intend to get users to register on my website, then fill in institutions/Companies they are affliated to. Each institution will thus have individual gallery. thus a one-to-many relationship. So at anytime the selected institution will have album/gallery displayed and should maybe have global variable so it can be seen all over. Thus the albums/gallery are related not directly to the user but to the users institutions. I have no problem of soiling my hands. Will work hard. Just the pointers

You will have to attache a user or user group to a toplevel album which then acts as this gallery you speak of (again in Zenphoto terms it is an album, the gallery is the installation of Zenphoto in total).

Only admins can attach albums to themselves not self registered users.

You will of course also have to setup your theme to do so. For self registration there is a plugin. Also I suggest again to read the user management article on the user guide and addtionally read the theming tutorial.

I see no problem for what you wish to do besides creating the form for the user listing his "institutios" and then assigning him rights to view the albums associated with these institutions.

A user has created a plugin that allows users to register and assigns him a personal album. I suspect that you could use that and the register user plugin as a starting point. Also, of course, be sure you understand the information in the user rights documentation on the WEB site and of course the various documentation of fucntions and the zenphoto object model.
