Hi, Fairly new to web stuff and I have failed getting ZP to work.

I downloaded ZP and copied to my host (hostgator). I ran setup and fixed the errors the showed up.

i can get the zenphoto admin site to work. All is functional apart from the album tab and view my gallery.

on clicking the album tab I get the following

Warning: require_once(/home/badger/public_html/admin-globals.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/badger/public_html/zenphoto/zp-core/admin-edit.php on line 10

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/badger59/public_html/admin-globals.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/badger59/public_html/zenphoto/zp-core/admin-edit.php on line 10

And the gallery will not show and I just IE can not display page

I have searched here, read troubleshooting, googled etc etc,

Any help appreciated.

TBH I am surprised I got this far but I am stumpped now.

line 10 of admin edit.php is

require_once(dirname(dirname(dirname(__FILE__))).'/admin-globals.php');

does this need tweaking?

This sounds like file security on your server is not right. Presuming that the file `admin-globals.php` does actually exist (or there would have been a notice from setup) then your server is preventing the zenphoto script from loading the file.

I Checked all file and directory and have a good mix of 755 and 644 permissions. Is there anything on teh hostgator server side I should be checking or is this what you mean by file security.

Also my admin-globals.php was in zp-core and not under my publichtml root. I moved it and that crought up

function-basic.php
global-definitions.php
versions.php

I moved all these to the root and still nout. now i get when i view the albums from the zenphoto dashboard.

The website cannot display the page

HTTP 500

Most likely causes:
•The website is under maintenance.
•The website has a programming error.

I have an empty .htaccess in th epublic root is this an issue?

Might delete all and try again from scratch.

The files of course belong into /zp-core as uploaded. If you "destroy" Zenphoto's structure it of course does not work...

As my colleague it might be some server side security that might be interfering. Then there is nothing you or we could do. Conctact hostgator about that.

But as you suggested try a re-upload of all files to be sure nothing broke accidentally. Sometimes that happens.

I did not destroy the structure, it seemed to be looking for these files in the root folder and they were not there. I copied them there and left originals in zp-core. I'll re do and see what happens.

See you on the flip side!

Ah, ok... but copying the files from zp-core to the root still does not help. Eitehr the files are there or something is preventing access to them. Be it security and/or a permissions issue.

Stand down!

deleted all, re ftp'd, ran setup again and it works fine straight off the bat.

Cheers for help, writing the software and putting up with muppets like me.

Out.
