I'm new, and just installed Zenphoto on my webserver.
Setup the lightroom plugin. Login works, but seems not to work either. Manual upload works.

But first another problem.

I figured out that under options - gallery - gallery title I am not able to save a new name for my gallery.

Other changes are saved, but this one stays blanc.

Anyon an idea? Chmod on some files?

We naturally can't help with the lightroom plugin. Open a separate ticket so its author(s) might spot it and be able to help (see note below the form).

Regarding the other issue please review your server logs.

Also please tell us what version of Zenphoto you installed. If it is not 1.4.5.1 you should probably upgrade.

Reinstalled Zenphoto to the latest version. Did the trick.

Point is that my webhosting company (OVH) offered an automatic install of a previous version. That was not a good idea to use this service...

Manual install works fine, also the LR plugin.

Automatic installs are nice, but sometimes they are not appropriate. Simplescripts does a good job, but some of the others try to bypass the zenphoto setup script--a really bad idea since that is where release-to-release migration code is executed.

Also providers tend not to take the time to keep their versions up-to-date, thus subjecting their customers unnecessarily to old bugs.

One can always use the hosted install to get the basics and then manually upgrade to the current release.
