Since upgrading to 1.4.5.9 I ahve been having trouble with thumbnails showing. I discovered that the permissions were all set to zero and when I reset the permission most of them are viewable again. Yesterday the reinstall routine kicked in and the install failed I have downloaded the program again and reinstalled it. Now when I run Setup.php I get an error that the permissions are unknown and the bottom of the page the following lines of text are repeated a hundred or so times:

Warning: opendir(/home/thurmont/public_html/themes/default) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: Permission denied in /home/thurmont/public_html/zp-core/setup/setup-functions.php on line 32

Warning: readdir() expects parameter 1 to be resource, boolean given in /home/thurmont/public_html/zp-core/setup/setup-functions.php on line 33

I have contacted the host and they say nothing has changed on their end but he did identify the file permissions issue. I tried uploading several images and the thumbnails for them also appeared as zero for permissions.

I am using FTPpro to upload the images. I also tried to use the built in upload routine but that generated a bunch of error messages in the album I uploaded to.

Zenphoto tries to set permissions to 0755 for directories and 0644 for files. If that does not work, you have the possibility to set different values during setup.

Permissions being set to 0000 is for sure something that happens server side.
Also, Zenphoto only tries to reinstall when something has changed in your installation or in the server software.

I'm afraid you will have to contact your host again.
