Can ZP be installed in a subdomain? I seem to get a blank screen when I go to www.subdomain.yoursite.org/zenphoto/zp-core/setup.php?

I checked the permissions and they seem OK.

Would I need a special htaccess file?

Of course it can (you don't need the folder "zenphoto" btw). Subdomains are technically no different to domains. Nothing special needed actually. Best example our own demo:
https://demo.zenphoto.org

If you get a blank page you should review your server error log.
