Maybe you could add a date constraint for dynamic albums.
We could have albums before or after year x or y very simply !

You can already search by date actually.

Yes, I can search by date.
Problem solved searching several years to get what I want.
Example, searching for :
2019 2020
will give me all pictures posted between 2019 and 2020.

Great it works out for you! You can search almost every field if they are enabled for searching. If you temporarily disable some you can even search more exact (there is a bug in 1.5.9 regarding the search field selection via the search form we are aware of).
