I upgraded my server from 8.1 to 8.2 and now I can't load the backend.

I tried to run set up and that does not work either. I am using latest vers. of ZP.

Any suggestions?

I got set up to run. All OK now.

What version of PHP is ZP currently tested on?

Zenphoto 1.6.8 should work with PHP 7.4 to 8.4 and maybe some derpecation warnings 8.5. We bascially tested it on 8.4 but we should have no specific code. Since 8.1 and 8.2 are already not officially supported anymore I would recommend to upgrade even more. 1.6.8 will be the last to officially support anything below PHP 8.

In any case please review the debuglog for specific errors as it can be lots of things like missing PHP extensions. What did setup say in that regard?
Also try to disable all third party/custom plugins and themes.

I have been trying to upgrade from 8.2 to 8.3 but I have found other problems.

Have you guys tested your fork of zpBootstrap with.17. x. Something in 1.7 does not work with zpBootstrap. 1.6.8 is fine.

On my local box running 8.2.1.2 the backend displays all thumbnails fine, but any image page is blank without even displaying placeholder.

Tonight I will investigate further with Claude.

Ok.... I have zpBootstrap running fine on php 8.2.1.2/ZP 1.7x on my live server.

Can't seem to get ZP 1.6 or 1.7 to run on 8.3 local or www. I get configuration error coming from server I think, not from ZP.

When I run zpBootstrap on 1.7 locally/PHP 8.2.1.2, it does not build any pages for image thumbnails, it does build thumbnails for albums.

I've got a lot of this solved. When I upgrade PHP it was automatically turning off some extensions

Xampp hasn't released anything for 8.3, so for local environment your stuck at 8.2 for testing. Should I leave my live PHP at 8.3?
I see that 8.5 is released so I was just making sure I don't get too far behind.

What PHP is ZP using for current releases?

Thanks.

We primarily use 8.4 for some time but we already tested 1.7a with 8.5. There might be some deprecation notes but so far all works.
1.7a will be PHP 8+ only as we just decided that. as we previously wanted to be 7.4+. But given that even 8.3 falls out of official support end of the year already and we really don't test 7.4 at all anymore.

zpBoostraps should work with 8.1./8.2 itself but we haven't actively tested it with 1.7a. Since it is limited supported we only do on request. We'lll take a look but generally I don't think we changed anything regarding the image processing that should interfere.

For me zpBootstrap works fine with 1.7a and PHP 8.5
