Dear Friends

First of all, I love the ZP setup, design, the look of it and everything.
I have been looking for this for a REALLY loooong time, so thanks (if you get me startet here!!)

I can upload pictures, the info. tags in the photo is there, it goes into the right file on the server etc. etc.
The ONLY thing is, that the actual picture dosnt show!
I can upload .gif, but not jpg.
I can upload almost any .jpg and it will show, as long as its not a picture from my own canon camera or some of my friends camera.

I use VISTA.

My ISP is www.one.com (they use safe mode!)
My friend has the same ISP but not at all any errors.

My site is located at http://www.svinetsdisciple.com

My friend got one of my pictures, normal size .jpg whit large .JPG in the end (dont now why its large), and the same problem on his server, so is it the pictures, but why..??

Please Please help me to become a happy user

Merry Christmas to all of you out there :O)

Most probably something to do with the metadata in the picture. Can you submit a ticket for this problem and attach one of the photos that do not work.

Sorry, deleted this as it was messing up the forum output.

You probably don't need to post the album.php code anyway.

Hi, i have the same problem, everything is going fine while uploading the images, it dosn't display any errors. But when i afterwards take a look in the photo album det picture simply isn't there, the picture name and all the picture information is there just nor the picture.
This is only with some of my pictures.
I can se that you (sbillard) told Cini to make a ticket, but i to cant find the appropriate place to do this please advice

Thx in advance

You have to create tickets here: http://www.zenphoto.org/trac/report/1
You have to create a trac account and log in first, before you can do it.

Thx for the link/help acrylian.
but while waiting for reply i have been playing a little with my pictures, and found out that after making the original picture smaller in size it will show perfect when uploadet.
Maybe you should try that Cini
Is there a max picture size? (maybe its already written somewhere, i just haven't seen it)

There is not a max size per-se. However there are memory limits on PHP programs, so I imagine that you could have a picture that was too large. I would expect a cgi error, though, saying that a memory allocation limit was exceeded.

Also, as a rule of thumb, pictures viewed on the web don't need to be much larger thatn 1000x800 pixels for most uses. Resizing large pictures does take server resources, so unless you otherwise need the pictures to be full sized, I recommend you resize them before uploading. Mine are all 800x600.

The memory limits sbillard speaks of is part of your server configuration. It depends on you webhost if you can raise the memory or not.
I believe it can be change in the php.ini if you host allows it.

Cini:

If you use Windows, I recomment you look into Qimage. Great photo printing program. Also one of the best at resizing images without causing artifacts. http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage/

If you use Mac you could try ThumbsUp: http://www.devon-technologies.com/products/freeware/index.html
Or the tool for everything, the graphic converter: http://www.lemkesoft.com/
