All - when I upload pictures using the built-in uploader, it pulls in the image metadata description of the photo as the description in my zenphoto gallery. However, when I ftp up pictures, it doesn't appear to process this same metadata at any point.

Any way I can do this, either with a custom edit to whatever function is automatically parsing these new files (which I haven't found yet in the code) or via some other means?

Something else must be wrong. It makes absolutly no difference how the image gets on your server. Metadata is extracted from the image when it is first discovered by zenphoto.
