Hi

I've been using ZenPhoto for a while and what's always bugged me is the initial upload. Selecting files one by one, or zipping and all that. I made a small program (Windows only, sorry) to do these things for me and some more. What it can do:

Create new albums, upload images, save title and descriptions for albums and images.
Resize images as they are being uploaded.
Rotate images
Re-order images

The program is only meant to upload the album for the first time, not to work with albums after they are uploaded. It operates only on the http level and does not talk directly to the database. If anyone wants to use such a program it can be found http://tech.einaregilsson.com/2009/07/20/zenphoto-uploader/.

best regards,

Thanks! I have added an entry on http://www.zenphoto.org/2008/01/zenphoto-add-ons/ and a short post on our news section.

You really should test it with the recent 1.2.5 release but I guess it directly uploads to the albums folder? Then that should not be an issue.

(You might want to add on your site which Windows version this program requires.)

It uploads exactly the same way as you would if you uploaded through the browser, it's just a http post request that mimics the upload page. It creates a new album first, and that goes under the albums folder, yes.

I'll try to test against 1.2.5 soon, I just didn't think there would be many changes other than error fixes between point releases (I tested against 1.2.2). I'll upgrade my own gallery soon and test it then.

And thanks for ZenPhoto btw, it really is an excellent gallery!

Thanks!
