I am having the same trouble. After a fresh install of the latest PHP engine, MySQL, and ZP 1.2.6, I set up the default application pool (yes its a Windows 2k3 server running IIS 6) to parse PHP via php-cgi.exe. I get to the www.mysite.com/zp-core/setup.php setup page - looking good. I set all the directory and file permissions according to the prompts that setup.php wants to see, and set .htaccess file writable and the re-write base variable to "/" as noted. After a couple reloads of setup.php, all is well, and I see the "Go" button, and click on it.
MySQL tables are created and I'm presented with a link to create an admin account. I successfully get to the Admin UI, and create a few admin accounts. I log out, and following that, I cannot log back in to the Admin UI! I get a username/password error every time. Yes, I'm inputting the credentials correctly, because I just created them!
I've tried on more than one client machine, including the server itself. I still cannot log in. This looks to be a great bit of software that I would really like to use, if I can actually administer it.
I cannot get a password reset e-mail either, because zenphoto_sendmail errors out. What do I need to add to Win2K3 to fix this problem?
I saw in another forum post that the nightly build may have fixed this problem. Well, I can tell you that it hasn't, at least not in my case, as I tried applying the nightly build as an update to fix it. Still no joy.
I'd be grateful for any assistance or ideas on how I might proceed.
