Hello, first, thank you for providing this great service! Secondly, I was hoping someone could help me with an issue I've just encountered. I've been using ZP for about 6 weeks on my site without problems. Today a site member notified me of this error message:

Zenphoto encountered an error
MySQL Query ( INSERT INTO `zp_96192_options` (name, value, ownerid, theme) VALUES ('Allow_search','1',0,'default') ) failed. Error: Unknown column 'theme' in 'field list'

I don't believe it's ever happened before. I'm not sure what to do, when I go to my Login, which I access through a URL in my browser history, it is a long page of "System Checks." Probably, most importantly, I use ZP through my Dreamhost service, it downloaded and added the gallery to my site as a subdomain with one simple click. I'm sure it's an older version. I'm not sure that Dreamhost offers an upgrade function and I've been afraid to try and re-download through dreamhost in case it would remove all previous files and information.

I am also a clueless WordPress user that just clicks buttons and watches the magic screen make a website for me. I don't know code, CSS, all those things. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance for taking the time to read about my problem. By the way, the first "error" on that system check is:

PHP mbstring package [Your internal characater set is ISO-8859-1]

well... i think You will have to put a php.ini file into the folder of your hosting which is the root folder of your ZP instalation...

im not sure if i did understand exactly tour explication, but, if you changed the place where you installed your zp into a subdomain after that the instalation was done, then you just messed up the whole thing.
You can get it work anyway, by editing manually configuration files of Your ZP and maybe also editing the sql entries, but if it is like that, then easyest will be just make a fresh install on that subdomain...

I can send You my php.ini if You want to - i edited it just yesterday, to improve the performance of my gallery.

Thanks for the reply and advice afarkas, I do think you may have misunderstood my dilemma.

I have never altered in any way or moved anything with my zenphoto application. I don't even know how to (other than uploading photos and changing main options/themes). I don't even know how to access the files on my host/server, not even sure if I can.

My zenphoto album was a "one-click install" software package that came with my hosting service, Dreamhost. It instantly added a subdomain (www.photos.mywebsite.com - for example) to my website which goes directly to my photo galleries. Today I uploaded a few new photos, ones that I took myself and should not effect anything. The gallery was working fine after the upload. About 3-4 hours later I was notified that it can't be accessed.

This error is caused by an improper upgrade. During a normal upgrade the setup function will create any newly needed database items. In your case, a field needed by Zenphoto is not in the database.

Note please our "read before posting" post explicitly says we do not support third party install routines. You may need to ask the hosting service for help since their "one-click install" seems not to work.
Please run the setup program for a proper upgrade.

Thank you for the advice. I contacted the host and they helped me through the upgrade to the latest version. It was something on their end. Now there is a small error code however at the top of my page. It says the following:

Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: No such file or directory in /usr/local/ndn/web/oneclicks/zenphoto/zp-core/zp-config.php on line 95

It's strange because sometimes it disappears, even on the gallery home page it will come and go. Should I post a new topic about this issue? I'll check the forum for related issues and read the FAQ section first, of course.

I see that you are using Zenphoto 1.2.9, the latest version, yet `zp-config.php` from the latest version does not contain any calls to `mkdir()`. You will have to ask your host about this, as well, since this is a non-standard installation from a third-party script (which we do not support).

In addition, there should be no zp-config.php file in the zp-core folder. The file that Zenphoto uses is in the zp-data folder.

I think that this is yet another example of "simplified install scripts" being rather too simple and probably out of date as well. Please inform you provider that his scirpts MUST be updated with each version of Zenphoto or they will now work (as you are seeing.)
