I just set up a Zenphoto gallery and wanted to have part of my site protected. Since I prefer doing this without requiring the people to whom I do grant access to register, I created a guest account without user name.
Now I'm getting multiple complaints that for some this does not work. They leave the username blank, fill in the correct password (I made them try again) and get a login errror message. I can't reproduce it myself, and I know some other people have successfully logged in.
Has anybody experienced this problem as well, or does someone know what might be going on?
Cheers, Allard

Guest user names are indeed optional. If the option is not selected, the User name is not required. If it is selected, the user name must match as well as the password.
The user name field is also optional, but if it is not selected, Zenphoto users will not be able to log in from the front end and will have to visit the ../admin link.
Note also that guest user name/passwords are not communicative. If you have a gallery password and an album password, the guest user will have to supply both.
All this is discussed in the user guide.
