Is there any chance this project may have a MS SQL option for the database? I have been using the MS SQL Wordpress port with great succes and would like to be able to use this project in a MS SQL environment.

It just takes someone with sufficient knowledge of MSSQL to make the implementation. Please look at the database-PDO_xxx.php scripts. Someone needs to implement the equivilant for MSSQL. Should you do this, we will gladly add it to the release.
