This is just wishful thinking, but I think zenphoto could really take it to the next level with dropbox integration. How cool would it be in zenphoto could pull from the dropbox photo folder. I currently use that service now to quickly get my mobile photos online.

Well, IMHO indeed wishful thinking. Why don't you use an mobile FTP client? That is not that much more complicated than using Dropbox and the dozens of similar services.

Generally Zenphoto can't do this at all. But as always if you need this feel free to investigate a possible plugin. I will not. Sorry.

i'm running zenphoto on a linux machine with dropbox-daemon. just replace the album directory with a symlink to your dropbox photo directory (or any directory you want) and everything runs fine. no need for a plugin.

I know the photo directory is generally public but no authentification needed for accessing the images itself???

dropbox-deamon (http://wiki.dropbox.com/TipsAndTricks/TextBasedLinuxInstall) acts as client and syncs your dropbox to your home-directory (for example /home/smuli/dropbox).
like in windows where you don't need any special authentication if you have the client installed you can add/remove/rename/move all your files inside your dropbox.
now the only thing you have to do is symlink your /home/user/dropbox/photo/ to /path/to/zenphoto/albums.
now all your uploaded photos are appearing instantly in your zenphoto gallery.
if you check your directory permissions in linux you can also upload images through zenphoto to your dropbox.

Thanks for the info. Good to know for people using Dropbox.
