Hi,

We use Zenphoto like an extranet, so log in is needed to get view permissions to the gallery.

However, now we need to hide specific albums for external journalists etc, but allow these albums for our internal guest account. For now, unpublishing albums has been sufficient, but not any more.

So we would need to allow and deny single albums for different, view permission granted, users.

How this can be achieved?

Thanks,
Niko

I've read that several times, but I still can't figure:

1.) How can I allow album "foo" to be viewed by users x and y only?
and/or
2.) How can disallow album "bar" for users y and j only?

x, y, i and j have global view permissions to albums and nothing else.

Thanks for your help,
Niko

It is all written there but in short. Unpublish and assign those albums to the users as managed albums they should be able to see and manage. You can't dissallow, you have to assign to allow.

But if I set users as album managers, they can edit those albums and pictures? Or have I missed something?

That's the problem... We can only allow view access for normal users.

Yes, they would have manage rights. For differing of edit and view rights you need to wait for Zenphoto 1.4.2. You can already preview on the development nightly build but no guarantee as it is still in development.

Alright. Really appreciate your help, maybe I will import the edit rights for our system or try to figure out something like managing view permissions by photo/album tags.

You did open a ticket (which is not directly related to this) already and we will try to reproduce and if there is anything wrong to fix it. Further responses will happen there.

Note that the team is currently not fully available, especially the rights expert and we are doing it all voluntary. So urging us to do aynthing will not help...
