I am frustrated and tired of fighting Google and my host provider. My site was hacked a month ago with the the known malware attacking Zenphoto sites, and Google flagged the malware and I immediately reacted and installed the fix from Zenphoto. I did everything Google asked to be re instated and my site was checked and was clean. My provider recently shut my site down twice even though it is fixed and clean. I am tired of having to spend hours reinstalling Zenphoto to satisfy Google and my provider. I am done. Stick a fork in me.

Let's see. You have a problem with Google and your provider, so you blame it on Zenphoto. Real smart. Well, I guess we won't miss you much.

Just to note, if your site had been hacked you should have not only installed the fix (=1.4.1.6) but also checked other files and installs on your server as described lengthly on the forum. If you missed anything naturally it would be no wonder that you are still flagged by Google.

Just because your zenphoto got hacked doesn´t mean you won´t be hacked with another script, no matter how secure your site will be there will always be a way to hack it.
A site of a custumer of mine that uses ZenCart was hacked last year and thank "god" for a thing called backups I´ve restored the site to how he was two days before the hack and fixed the problem, I had to install security updatdes but the site is still running on ZenCart, and untill some feature is requested that I won´t be able to install it will keep working with that script.

My advice to you is: Like it? Keep it.

Remember: Everything can be hacked

Hello,
funny, my host just shut down my account for the second time, in fact I was focused on fixing Wordpress but now I think the zenphoto script was the hole...

I'm not blaming Zenphoto, it's a great tool, I like it and thanks to the developers.

Ok now I wait and which they will give me back the access to my account and will have to find a solution. I was thinking of temporally shut down zenphoto and DELETE all files from it.

Do you think I will be able to install a fresh, clean version of it and still keep my content after that ?

thank you really much
Edward

Thank you,
I think I will wait for the next stable version. Do you think I will be able to install it and use my /cache and /albums as is ? Can I just use the same Data base or do you think it's infected too ?

Thanks you and keep going please !

all the best

I cannot answer if your database is infected. Depends on the hack. As far as we know the recent hacks did not involve the database but there may be variants that do. So better check it. Generally you can just use it, just keep the config file (make sure that has not been hacked either). Since images hardly will contain code, you probably can keep at least the albums folder.

(1.4.2 beta is actually stable as we use it on our own site as well already.)

IT is scheduled for release 1/15/2012. Until then the nightly build "trunk" files are the current Beta/Release Candidate version of 1.4.2

Generally the schedules are noted on the bugtracker here: http://www.zenphoto.org/trac/roadmap
