I can publish the album, but not the image.
When I check the "published" box, and log out, then view the gallery, there is no image.
admin>albums>images when ever I go here, the check box for "published" is unchecked, while the album side is.
So how is an image properly published?
In my opininon, publishing images should be automatically done when the album is published. There should be no need for the rhetoric.
There is a difference between images and albums, you know. Either can be published or not. If an album is unpublished it will not show in the menus. But its images might show up somewhere, for instance in a published dynamic album. So each state is independent.
I presume you did not "check" the box for "published" in the image. Any reason why not?

It is if you have so set the option
You also need to include a specific date as I found out.
If that is not done, the image is not published.
