I just upgraded from 1.0 to 1.5. When running the upgrade script, I'm met with the following:

zenphoto setup
Upgrading tables...
Cleaning up...
Error: The 'albums' directory cannot be found or is not readable.

Any Ideas as to where I'm goofing up? http://maltese.net/photo

Not sure, but your gallery sure is behaving weirdly... sometimes it loads object, sometimes not. Very erratic and slow. I'd think about a new host if I were you ;-)

The "Cleaning up" part doesn't do much, just a garbage collection and cache clearing. It shouldn't matter if that part throws an error. I would guess that your server is just very wacky and all kinds of things are wrong that we'll never be able to diagnose.

As long as it's working now, don't worry about it.

If you want to, try clicking "Refresh" under the stats on the admin front page, it might throw the same error. Then we know it's just the garbage collection...

Just had the exact same problem. I misunderstood what was going on with the webpath and serverpath variables, and I had given them the path to the admin area (/photos/zen, for my site). Removed /zen and it's working now.

Out of curiosity, did you have problems with the default detected paths, such that you had to input them manually? Let me know if you did...

@sleary -- could you please send me the output of a phpinfo() if you can, preferably from the root zenphoto directory? I'm looking at why this happens with the different variables available...
