If the host will not turn safemode off, Can safemode be turned on / off via a htaccess file? if so, what would the code be?

I noticed in Singapore's config, there is something called "safemode hack" I don't know what it is, just thought I'd throw it out there.

In lieu of finding another web host which does not turn on PHP safe mode, you may want to go back to a previous version (1.0.3) which can "workaround" PHP Safe Mode a bit better.
