Is it possible to have all uploads screened so that any admin can approve it.. or even for just for some user groups?

You can set the default of images to "upublished" and not allow the user edit rights to the album. The default for publishing is universal, but each user may be allowed or denied the ability to edit the album (and thus publish the image).

The problem there is once they have rights they then can post anything and If I am not there something offensive could end up online for hours before i can react

I certainly would not give rights to someone that I did not trust.

My site is for public use for users to upload fan art for a particular game.

Zenphoto does not provide upload facilities for "public" access. Only for registered users.

I know but once they have signed up someone could potentially sign up so that they can put on bad images

Well, that is the problem and danger if you are allowing public uploads (especially fan art could involve copyright issues, too).

As far as I know you as the responsible person have to take care of your users doing it correctly anyway. As soon as you know about a violation you need to take it down.

You could at least use upload limit and quota manager plugins.

As acrylin has said. If you allow someone to do things you are responsible for the result. You can not allow as describe above, but apparently that did not interest you.

You really cannot have it both ways. If you make your site open then you make it vulnerable to abuse.

Let me give you an example:

Wordpress or facebook have options to allow you as an admin to view a comment before it is accepted and put out publicly

We have that for comments as well..:-) Sorry, again Zenphoto has nothing for your purpose. You will have to code a plugin yourself to achieve that.

Hi,

I need the same approval needs. I don't understand how "You can set the default of images to "upublished" and not allow the user edit rights to the album.

For now, my user can only publish images in the 3 albums of my galery. But I would like to approve the images uploaded before displaying them.

Regards
Alexandre
