setup scripts missing... again

Hi everyone;

I read the forum all over and coulndt find a resolution to this. My website works perfectly on chrome, firefox, internet explorer and safari 5.1.1.

Problem : on macs with safari 5.0.3 (my girlfriends, my clients one...) setup script missing appears.

I cannot reasonably ask them to update their browser as i wouldnt ask the whole internet to do so, you know how it is.

Help would be much appreciated on this.

Thanks in advance !

btw : setup.php and setup folder are deleted. If i re run setup, website works on safari 5.0.3 but not on all the other browsers ! Turns me mad.

This has nothing to do with browser versions actually.

If you upgraded it is recommened to delete the setup files which you apparently did. So you need to reupload them before you can re-run setup naturally.

Did you look at your htaccess file? Did you clear the browser caches? If the static html cache is used is that cache cleared as well?

A link to the site in question will help as well.

PS: We don't really care about what subforum you post to. If the forum software would allow we would gladly even join them all...
  • Thanks for your quick reply.

    Website is at http://instantdeviephoto.com/index.html

I did all what you told... Website still works everywhere except on safari 5.0.3
  • zp is used under the "mariage" and "famille" sections

I put a return false to checkinstall function and it works now.

    Weirdissimo, still.

    Thanks acrylian for your help
  • Managed to get it working putting checkinstall to return false in functions.php

Again, I neither can reproduce it with Firefox3, Safari 4.1 or Opera 10.6 nor has this anything to do with browsers. You should never modify core files.

Safari's cache is sometimes a little too persistent so it shows older sites so that is the only thing that comes to mind for me.
