My ZenPhoto Version?

Sorry for what otherwise might seem like a ludicrous request. I had a problem with my blood oxygen level a few weeks ago which caused me to not think very clearly at the time (not that I was astounding to begin with :-)). Bad timing of course because I was right in the middle of trying to figure out this ZenPhoto problem that I had been having.

Could someone please help me figure out what version of ZenPhoto my SQL backup is supposed to be for. Either that or if you could give me some direction on how I could take a backup of photos and an SQL file from an old version and interject it into a new install of the latest version of ZenPhoto. I'll happily give you any information from my backed up SQL file or other backed up files that you might need to help me resolve this.

I am not sure it is possible to find that out easily. I will pass that to my collegue to answer later today.

So that he has all needed info please tell how you did that database backup: Did you use the Zenphoto utility for that or something like phpmyadmin?
  • There is an option in the database that shows the Zenphoto release #. From that you can look at the change logs and/or the various releases to see which one matches. Not a simple thing.

But it sounds like you are still running the old version, so just look at the bottom of one of the admin pages and the version is shown.

If you cannot figure out the old release you can just install the new one. It should happily migrate from that release so long as it is not too old. (I believe people have migrated from as far back as 1.2.5)

You will have to discuss with your host how to restore your database and album files. Just put them back as they were and install the new version of Zenphoto.
