Excessive resource usage

I had a previous Zenphoto installation that went down for some reason (that hacking issue that was mentioned?). I decided to move to one of my other servers and start a fresh Zenphoto installation. I simply installed Zenphoto on the new server, copied my theme folder over, copied my albums over, and did a little tweaking (I have some code in Code Block 1 & 2 on each album, same as I did before).

For some reason, I am getting this error every hour from WHM/Cpanel:

Excessive resource usage:
Resource: Process Time
Exceeded: 5444 > 1800 (seconds)
Executable: /usr/bin/php
Command Line: /usr/bin/php

I contacted my host and they suggested I ask the developer to optimize the PHP code. They didn't say which file, but it was in ZP-Core.

I'm sure you may need more info to identify my issue. Any ideas? What do you need to know?

Thanks,
Eric

  • First, start with a distributed theme to be sure this is not a theme issue.

If you can configure your site to give a stack trace then we would have an idea of what it is doing.

I am sure that the site's suggestion to have the developer "optimize the PHP code" is just his gut reaction without any analysis. We do infact monitor the performance each release and optimize as needed.
