Zip File Download in Albums

Are there any plans to support a zip file, like you do mp3, mp4, pdf, flv etc?

the ability for a user to download all files in an album such as with my previous theme.

I am using ZP theme, now.

I know I can add a link in the Description area, but I have several hundred albums.

ZIP files are supported. Look at the comment on the upload -> images tab.

You can use the function `printAlbumZip()`

I have a 3.5mb zip file in the directory, but it is not showing up. I put it there via FTP.

The zip is made up of .mp3 files which are ringtones that I created. Because it does not have image formats archived, could that be why it is not showing?

Try uploading via the upload -> images tab.

Zip files are not regogniced in the automatic discovery process. If you are using FTP you need to unzip them before uploading them. Alternataive as fretzl has said, use the upload->images tab to upload the file.
