hi there everyone
im wondering if there is a way to add a (page hit counter)like statcounter or perhaps google analytics? or show stats on the home page without having to go into the back end.
maybe its me whos missed something?

You can add any code to your theme files you wish. If I recall right there is a 3rd party Google analytics plugin somewhere.

Zenphoto has also a general hitcounter plugin (does not differ between days or such, just counts in total).
