blocked by "File upload stopped by extension"

Hi,

I'm a new user of zenphotos for some weeks. Great gallery.

But recently I've played with the options/themes and apparently since then I can't upload any more my photos via the Ajax uploader. I'm always getting :

"File upload stopped by extension"

It's jpeg files that I'm uploading and previously there wasn't any such error / restriction..

I tried disabling all options / extensions and so on in my administration tabs but none appear to solve my situation..

Does anyone have an idea how I can revert back ??

many thanks in advance,

leblutch.

You should try another upload way. There are three, http, flash uploadify and jquery upload. The latter requires php 5.3 which was not documented in that adapted script
somehow. So that might be reason.
  • Hi,

It's the jquery upload way that I'm actually using. (and for which I had 100% success previously).
and the website I've my zenphoto on has PHP 5.3.13.

So imho there is something I've changed in the options that is now raising the previously mentionned error. Problem is that I'm just unable to find back what option/extension or theme eventually it could be linked to..

I'll continue search in the options/extensions.
  • The error comes directly from the jQuery plugin. It seems to be a "catch all" error, perhaps indicating some other errors have happened. Maybe there will be other errors in your server log that might provide a clue as to the problem.
  • Hi, thx already for answer :)

well, I've only security log within my log tab :/

weird, I actually really don't see what I've changed that could raise this error still.

I continue searching but as you see any help greatly welcome ;)

    regards
  • The logs you need to find are the server logs, not the Zenphoto ones. The place where PHP errors (for instance) are stored.
  • hi,

well as far as I see I don't have access to the web server logs (it's not a personal web server).

anyway : I've just found that I can upload by FTP directly into my album directories. and by then the uploaded photos/videos are directly visible in the gallery.

So that actually solves my situation.

unless there could be some problem with this way I'll continue uploading by pure FTP so.

    regards.

Well, you really should ask your host about those logs. if you install software on your server you need to have access. Otherwise we would really recommend to move to another host as you really don't need a personal server to have that access...
  • FTP is, of course, a proper solution. As would be trying one of the other uploaders.
