Download Errors

Looks like a great program and I'm anxious to try it, but both the .zip and .tar download files seem to be corrupted. I tried to download each of them several times, but they cannot be unzipped.

The entire file doesn't seem to be downloading.

If it's me, what might I be doing wrong? I'm fairly experienced, so lay it on me.

  • it is not corrupted.

after you download it.... extract the file... then rename the extracted file with "zenphoto_107.zip" then extract it again. i think they might have compressed the file twice.

    ok?
  • Daxeno,

I wish that were true, but it isn't. The file is corrupted. I get the message "Cannot open file: it does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again."

I've downloaded both the zip and tar files several times.

The download is actually stopping about half way through.

Where are you downloading it to and from? What speed is your connection, and could it be "breaking up" somehow? Have you ever had problems with any other downloads? How long is it taking you to download that one file? If it's longer than 3 seconds maybe my keep-alive timeout is causing the trouble, but I doubt it...

Try downloading it directly to your server somehow? If you have shell access, use wget.

Lastly, I can email it to you. Send me an address at trisweb at this domain (zenphoto.org).
  • Thanks for your help. I typically do a few zip downloads each day and haven't come across this before, I use DSL and the download cuts off after a couple seconds. Since I don't have shell access I'll send an email address.

Thank you again for your help!
  • I can't open this files too. I'm from Andorra, I never has problem with zip files, and my connection is ADLS+2. The file need 4 seconds to be complete. Have you got any other mirror? Thank's!
  • Sorry, I have this problem with IE, but I tried with mozilla and it download fine. Thank's!

Interesting problem, but thanks for the heads-up. Perhaps I will add a download mirror.
