Setup doesn't run, all blank

Hi,
I had an older version of zenphoto on the site www.lorenzoadamson.com
We want to revamp the site completely, also the content so we thought the best was to remove all zenphoto files from the server and start from scratch, however I am not able to get the setup running. This is what I have done:

- removed the zenphoto folder from the server. However is not completely removed. I get a message saying the directory is not empty but I don't see any files or subfolders within the zenphoto folder
-downloaded the latest version to computer
- unzipped the latest version localy
- uploaded the whole zenphoto folder to the httpdocs folder in the server
- went to the website, nothing happens, all is blank
- went straight to http://www.lorenzoadamson.com/zenphoto/zp-core/setup.php, nothing happens, all blank

Please help!

Cheers,

darkygirl

  • FYI I am using Google Chrome
  • Did your server match the minimum requirement ?

  • I have a similar problem, my setup page went blank after i enter the MySQL information.
The MySQL Data is correct, other scripts like piwigo work with it

BTW my Server matches the requirements
  • acrylian Administrator, Developer
As always please review your server error logs
  • No error Logs were written
  • I have checked them but I don't see anything relevant about setup.php
Now I have removed all zenphoto files and folders but the page keeps redirecting to www.lorenzoadamson.com/zenphoto...I am desperate, some more info than just a one liner would be much appreciated
  • problem solved, i created a new mysql database, now it works
  • Sometimes there are hidden files in folders that your server is not allowing FTP to see or remove. This has happened to me when I have made a bad test on my hosted site and created a `.svn` folder.

I knew it was there but could not remove it. I had to ask my hosting provider to clean out the folder for me.

The re-direct is probably due to a `.htaccess` file. (And maybe that file would not be shown, files starting with periods are often hidden.)

Probably your best bet is to ask your provider to clean out the folders for you and hopefully that will make things good again.
