Changing Gallery structur without new installation

Hello, to find the best Gallery structure for me i sometimes alter the names or postions of Albums and subalbums or get rid of the Images installed. Sometimes i clear all folders, subfolders and Images and start again with a new structure of Albums and subalbums. But i found out that still something is left in some Cache Folders . And normally i have some Problems with ZP and it is better to clear the database , clear ZP and make a new Installation of ZP. Is there an other possibility to change Gallery structure without any Problems , without a total new Installation? Best regards

It is not necessary to re-install to change the album structure.

Zenphoto is file system based so it matches the structure in the albums folder to the database (and not vice versa!). It does that on discovery only There is a utility button named "database refresh" for force that manually.

If you clear albums manually the cache is not necessarily. There is button "clear image cache" on the admin overview to clear the cache. You can also delete it manually via FTP.

Also read here please about caching and image/album discovery works: http://www.zenphoto.org/news/caching
  • inside zenphoto/cache i can find the album of the new structur and the old albums of the old structure. And it is not possible to get rid of the old albums, neither with admin nor FTP
  • in the new structur there are only 7 Albums but slideshow Flash count 12 (old 5+new 7) and the Image id max is 715 (old 708 + new 7 id´s)istead of 7 (only 7 Pictures instad of 708)

Zenphoto keeps cached album and images unless you clear the cache. They are simply not used. Unless you /albums folder still has the structure.

There is actually no Flash slideshow in the current release anymore.
