Hi,

for those who are interested in testing other gallery solution.
After switching from Piwigo to Zenphoto I had my site running a few month with koken.
Today I decided to come back to Zenphoto.
Maybe my experiences are intersting for others:

Piwigo:
A real good solution with great support in the english forum.
And it is lightning fast.
Unfortunately it is a gallery only solution with only very limited blogging features.

Koken:
Real cool templates but not open source. Anyway I like koken - but it's lack of a search function is more or less a show stopper. You can implement google custom search or try to write your own search engine which means a lot of work.

All in all, zenphoto after all the testing stuff zenphoto is for me the best solution which offers both:
A nice gallery solution and blogging features.

Great, I did notice you were trying Koken ;-) It is surely good tool and themes like it has are all possible for Zenphoto naturally… Piwigo seems faster because I think it creates some standard image sizes on upload already while we leave a lot more freedom to individual sizes via theming (as of my lacking detail knowledge of Piwigo theming only of course).
