Unable to configure slideshow in Basic theme

I have the slideshow plug-in installed. But I seem to be completely unable to configure the slideshow so that it displays OK. I'm using the Basic theme, which has 4 theme colours under Admin > Options > Theme. If I select theme colour Light or Sterile-light, the image title, description and the "Select speed" heading are all white and near-invisible against the very pale background. But if I select theme colour Dark or Sterile-dark, while the text is now clearly visible, the black slideshow controls can no longer be seen against the very dark background. The pictures show OK. Am I doing anything wrong here?

No, actually not.The older "slideshow" plugin uses images for the buttons so the buttons don't adjust to the theme link color. I cannot reproduce the speed control. That is the standard browser default display grey with black text for me.

The newer slideshow2 plugin which is meant to be the replacement sooner or later has probler controls styled with the theme link colors. It is the same functionality except no speed control selector. Maybe try that meanwhile.

Even there indeed the titles or descriptions itself are indeed hard to read on the lighter theme variants.

So I will take a look at both issues.
  • Thanks Acrylian.

I've got slideshow2 working and it looks OK in the dark theme. The description still gets lost on the light theme.

But I'm still at the design stage with this, so switching to the dark theme is an option. It certainly makes the colour photos look better.

You could also try the master/support build from github which should have this generally fixed now.
