'Need to rerun setup' error, but uploading files doesn't help

Good afternoon. I've just noticed that my ZenPhoto installation is broken - when I try the homepage I get the error 'Zenphoto needs to run setup but the scripts are not present'. Reading existing forum posts I'm guessing this is due to an upgrade of PHP version by my hosting provider as I've not made any changes to my site in ages.

I've followed the instructions at the following URL (http://www.zenphoto.org/news/installation-and-upgrading#re-running-and-re-uploading-setup-files) to upload the SETUP folder and SETUP.PHP but when I subsequently try loading the SETUP.PHP page I get another error stating that 'reconfigure.php' is also missing. I uploaded that file and get another error about an invalid array value. I think I'm now chasing my tail as obviously something is not as it should be. I'm still on v1.4.2.4 if that's relevant - I've not upgraded because I was worried it would break something I didn't have knowledge or time to fix (ironically).

Any suggestions? Is it possible to workaround this security check?

There is no workaround. It triggers on possibly unwanted file changes of Zenphoto itself but also on upgrades to something on the server.

You did really upload the setup.php and setup folder from Zenphoto 1.4.2.4?
  • Ah, I used the latest download - my bad, I really should have thought of that. I've now used the correct version and all is working as expected. Thanks for the quick and accurate reply.
