subalbums

Hi, the users should not be able to edit the albums and only in the subalbums I can upload pictures, but I have not found at which point I set these rights.

Sorry, not possible. If they have upload rights that includes edit rights since uploading is editing. Rights apply to toplevel albums and all of their child albums.
