Well, sorry, that is not possible. For showing x images of something there is the image_album_statitics plugin. As always ready made themes may not suite everyone's need by default without modifications.

I did understand what you want It is just not possible that simple without custom coding. Dynamic albums and also normal albums cannot be limited that way. The only limit they know in normal album context is the items per page limit. But even that is of no help here without custom coding (and I don't even know the theme that well to tell what you need to do where).

No, a dynamic album is just a saved search which naturally has no such limits.
If you don't need it as an "album" on the site itself you can use the object model with it like any other album to just show 10 images from it.

I did understand what you want It is just not possible that simple without custom coding. Dynamic albums and also normal albums cannot be limited that way. The only limit they know in normal album context is the items per page limit.
