I am using ZenPhoto 1.5.7 with Ubuntu Linux 18.04 and the Basic theme and can not find the upload link. here is my system info below

I have the plugin uploader_jQuery installed and enabled

Not sure what you mean with "upload link" but the upload page should be visible under Admin —> Upload —> Images (jQuery)
I can see it for admin no problem, but for the user is where It is missing
An individual user can only see the Upload tab if upload rights are assigned to him.
