ReCaptcha and RPD

Hello !
I was thinking that zenphoto is really close to get rid of Google with alternatives like Matomo and OSM. There is only the reCaptcha who doesn’t have an alternative. And because now it’s a little bit tricky with Google Analytics in France (same in Germany ?) I’ m considering to use an alternative to ReCaptcha. So, the question : is this a shared thought for future improvement ? :-) if no I’m gonna to update my PHP skills :D

    Yes, of course, actually applies to the whole EU.

    The two relevant form plugins do have a "honey pot" to help a little with spam. I would love to replace reCaptcha but actually I don't know about any privacy friendly alternative. You refer to Repeated Pattern Detectors which of course can only be as good as the pattern catalogue they can access. And I fear without some account of some service…

    We have a simpleSpam plugin you might want to take a look at. As always any 3rd party plugin is welcome :-)
