The simpler media website CMS
Hi, I'm a new user and apart from photo's I'd like to upload my own musicvideo's or embed them in Zenphoto. I have the class-video plugin activated. But musicplayers are not available it seems.
So, how do I get my music in my Zenphoto album?
Thanks for your help,
Lennery

If you have the class-video plugin enabled, you can upload .mp4/.m4v videos (and .mp3 and .m4a audio) just like images (there are other formats but I leave these out to keep it simple). You have to use these as these are the general HTML5 webformats all browser understand for sure.
Zenphoto cannot generate a thumbnail of these. If you like to have an individual one you have to create a sidecar image (often called "video thumb"). Info is within this article: https://www.zenphoto.org/news/problems-with-albums-and-images/
If you like to use external sources like Youtube, it is a bit more complicated. You find some general instructions here: https://www.zenphoto.org/news/using-external-sources/
thank you for this quick reply .. I will investigate ..

I uploaded the mp4's through ftp and they show up in the album .. so that's nice .. I still have to find out how to thumbnail them .. the instructions look quite difficult to me .. but I will spend more time and hope to find out ..
the embed method (external use of youtube material) did not succeed .. only the text-file showed up in the album .. so I have to experiment a bit more, I guess ..
but I'm happy that my music shows up .. now it's a matter of finetuning ..

It is really simple. If the video is name
video.mp4
upload an image namedvideo.jpg
.You can also use video/audio playlists using the jplayer plugin (note it is deprecated though) but that requires some theming. Read theming tutorial first before trying something a bit more advanced like that.
The embed method is for texts like album descriptions, or text content of pages or articles.
You can use the class-textobject plugin for youtube. Create a txt file with the iframe as content. Then it should show up on the single image page. (If GDPR or other privacy concerns apply to your country be careful with such third party sources)
